Piaget Polo S Review
This is a review of the Piaget Polo S Reference G0A45005.
The Polo S line was launched by Piaget in 2016. This 2020 release has a special green “peacock 🦚” dial, rose gold indexes and is limited to 888 pieces.
The watch is 42mm but, probably due to the unique case design, it wears very well and smaller than other 42mm watches.
The dial is very special and follows the current trend of green dials.
Depending on the light the dial can appear a teal green
or even dark green
The Piaget polo line traces its routes back to the 80’s but these watches were in solid gold (it fits with the jewellery heritage of Piaget). The polo line launched in 2016 is a successful one as it follows the appetite for steel sport watches that can be worn in pretty much every setting.
The Polo S is powered by a new Piaget manufacture movement (caliber 1110P) that is just 4mm thick. The whole watch has a slim profile:
at 9.4mm height it is way slimmer than others 100mt water resistant watches.
The watch elegancy is amplified by the rose gold accents. It is not over the top and the steel-sport DNA is intact but with a touch of class.
The dial presents some horizontal lines and a date window at 6. I found the date placement to be more harmonious than a window at 3. In this layout it is very legible.
We are convinced by the Piaget Polo S overall design: it might look similar to other sport steel luxury watches but, upon closer inspection, you can see that it retains the unique Piaget Polo DNA.
In conclusions, the Piaget Polo S is a great all-rounder option: distinct and at ease in the boardroom or at the lake for a swim.
